Here’s a list of very useful links for any aspiring journalist as a kind of leg-up for people in my situation. I would highly recommend getting in touch with people who are doing exactly what you want to do and if you're lucky you'll get someone who isn't of the overly-precious,"I worked hard to get where I am so won't help anyone else get their foot in the door", persuasion and wants to spread the love!

The main rule of thumb is never, never give up if you feel journalism is the right career for you. If you keep banging your head against the same brick wall you'll eventually make an impact on it and remember: SOMEBODY has to make it so why not you?
